Riddles: Receptionist and the missing dollar (Question)

Three men check in at a hotel and share a room with three beds. The room rate is $30 pr. night, so each man pays $10 to the receptionist.

A little later the receptionist realises that the hotel currently having a promotion, so the room only costs $25 pr. night. The receptionist takes 5 dollar bills and walks toward the room to return the money. On the way to the room, however, the receptionist asks himself: “How can three people share $5?” To makes things easy the receptionist puts two dollar bills in his pocket and returns three dollar bills – one for each of the three men.

During the night the receptionist cannot sleep because he cannot get the accounts right. The men have now paid $9 each (3 x $9 = $27) plus the $2 in his pocket gives $29. Where did the last dollar go?
